Biography: Regarding Sy’s Speaking Events

Regarded as a gifted international communicator, award-winning talk show host, recording artist and pastor, Sy has served for over two decades in ministry as a pastoral care specialist regarding sexuality and related concerns.

His seminars and speaking events are conducted trans-denominationally on 6 continents, for a wide variety of audiences including leadership conferences, counseling training, youth festivals, and men's events such as Promise Keepers.

His insights and dramatic life story have been featured in numerous international media interviews & articles (such as Donohue, 700 Club, Good Morning Australia, The Phillip Adams Show), as well as being featured in several books written by authors such as Dr. James Kennedy (Thomas Nelson Publ), Thomas Trask (Zondervon Publ) and Philip Baker (W&P Publ).

In 1996, Christianity Today Magazine selected Sy as one of Fifty Up & Coming Evangelical Leaders Under 40.  Sy has also served as an adjunct professor at King’s College, New York City, and is a frequent speaker in major Christian Universities & Colleges.(see Places Sy Speaks).

Married since 1982, Sy and his family have resided in Asia for 7 years where he was one of 25 pastors with the dynamic Anglican 'Church of Our Saviour' in Singapore, and in the South Pacific for almost 4 years, where his ministry is part of Youth for Christ New Zealand.

Regarded as a gifted international communicator, award winning talk show host, recording artist and pastor, Sy pursues added opportunities through music with his band 'vegaschurchboy'(ParachuteMusic).

From his own inspirational experience of overcoming abuse and brokenness, Sy began writing and performing his compositions in the early 1980's. Since then, he has written over 50 songs and since 1995, has recorded on, or written for 7 projects, incuding 6 albums--with 3 being his own. Sy conducted a successful 4 continent concert tour as one of two lead vocalists for the Euro-Industrial band 'NoLongerMusic', and their evangelistic glam-rock operetta ' Primordial', performed--with dramatic results--in major clubs around the world.

Additionally, Sy has performed his own music in major venues such as The Singapore Harbour Pavillion, Singapore Drama Centre, The Wellington Civic Centre and 'The Big Top' Stage at the Parachute Music Festival, New Zealand. His albums 'Communicate' and 'Deep' have enjoyed airplay in various markets and online, with both albums placing tracks in top 10 & top 20 MP3 playlists (Promo only Christian Contemporary).

As an artist and a specialist minister regarding sexual themes, Sy is committed to providing training for artist groups and schools for the creative arts. Sy has also served as the chaplain for New Zealand's award winning international pop-rock band 'The Lads' (BHM/Nashville).

Biography: Regarding Media

Regarded as a gifted international communicator, award winning talk show host, recording artist and pastor, Sy expands his communication platform with written word messages and media opportunities. Many of Sy’s articles have been translated into major world languages and many are available online.
Beginning in the mid 1980’s Sy has hosted Television and Radio programs, including ‘Exodus’ for WACX TV 55/Orlando, and appeared as a regular guest for 4 years, on ‘The Good Life’, nationally syndicated for WCLF TV 22/Tampa. Sy’s program ‘Exodus’ addressed sexual redemption themes, and won a Silver Angel Award in 1990 for excellence in Christian Broadcasting. Sy also co-hosted his live, nationally broadcast talk radio program ‘The Sy Rogers Report’ for WCIE in Florida. Additionally Sy has appeared in numerous media interviews around the world, and with many of his live events being broadcast to millions of potential viewers via satellite and internet.

Sy's published articles feature insights from his own life experience, both as a recipient of God's grace, and as a pastoral care giver of others. Sy's own life story 'The Man in the Mirror' was launched around the world in 1984 by 'The Last Days Newsletter', published by the late Keith Green's ministry. VOICE Magazine also featured this same article as the cover story of their national publication in 1985. Sy's booklet " Questions I'm Asked Most..." is in it's 6th printing since 1994, and is in global distribution through Regeneration Books. Additional articles by Sy, can be found on this website, many of which have been published by the Billy Graham Association youth website 'PassageWays'.
