Greetings and welcome!

Thanks for your continued interest in what I do. If you would like to review my previous ‘news’ and activities, please click on the Archive menu at the right. For current information and developments, keep reading:

Mid Year Break: I am enjoying a lighter load this summer from the marathon that the 2nd quarter of 2005 has been. Still, what great opportunities:

  • My wife and I enjoyed being together in Honolulu again for the annual Hawaiian Islands Ministries Conference. I was a keynote speaker, along with many other wonderful speakers (such as Ted Haggard, Tony Compolo). I conducted workshops as well. I’ve had the privilege of investing in H.I.M. for the past 10 years.
  • I was also keynote at the ‘Impact America’ conference in Denver at Cherry Hills Community Church. Other keynotes included syndicated columnist Cal Thomas (Fox News), actress Jennifer O’Neil, and Ted Baehr, founder of ‘Movieguide’.
  • I enjoyed conferences and church events in Portland Oregon again, and Los Angeles at Azusa Pacific University and EVFree Church (Fullerton) and then it was off to New Zealand for conferences in Auckland and Tauranga, then conferences in Toronto (for Christian counseling with delegates from 20 countries attending), followed by Toowoomba, Brisbane and Adelaide Australia for Conference and Church events. The most thrilling part of all this is seeing the invisible God yet having tangible effect upon people as they respond to Him. It’s been so cool traveling to Australia and New Zealand for 18 years this year!
  • At the time of this writing I’m off to speak for the CMDA: Christian Medical and Dental Association’s national conference in Denver, then New York City for teaching events.

Meanwhile, while home cooling my jets these next few weeks, I’ve been working more diligently on my mind (reading!!), body (exercise & yardwork & good sleep), spirit (praying more) and investing in my relationships. Everything that matters needs tending to, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to have extra time to do just that.

With regard to ministry resources: My FIRST BATCH of DVDs is available. “Lessons Learned Volumn 1” is now available on DVD at last, with my life story, and Lessons Learned Vol 2, in the works for release later this year. For info visit: www.regenbooks.org.

And that’s it for the moment. If you’d like to review a partial listing of upcoming events for 2005, visit the ‘Speaking/places sy speaks’ page.

Again, many many thanks for your interest and for your prayers for me and my family (they are well and are grateful for your remembering us all in your prayers!).
Always pursue God…
Sy

SO DO YOU EVER GET TIRED OF THE TRAVEL?

I love 'why' I go places, perhaps more than the travel itself, although I still do love travel. I grew up in a family that valued travel and foreign cultures & world history. When I was a little boy, I didn't know what I wanted to do in life, but I loved airplanes... which is a good thing since I basically commute to work in them, logging an average of at least 100,000 miles annually for about 15 years of my 20 years of full time ministry. This translates to about 4 to 5... sometimes 6 continents per year. It's been a great education. My wife and daughter have also traveled a lot with me over the years. It makes you flexible. Fortunately, my wife grew up in a military family that relocated every 3 years making her an understanding partner in our unusual lifestyle. An added bonus, is that many of the places I travel to, I've been to before. I have friendships established with great people and that makes me feel much more at home. I've also met some fantastic cabin crew, many whom I see from time to time so even getting there can be a much nicer experience.
