IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, STRUGGLING WITH YOUR WEAKNESSES…
I hope the following quotes will encourage you to keep on keeping on. After
all, like the old hymn says: 'It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus…life's
trials will seem so small, when we see Him. One glimpse of His dear face…all
sorrows will erase. It will be worth it all, when we see Him…'
- It is the nature of each of us to be rather base, proud, ambitious, full
of a great deal of appetite, judgments, rationalizations and opinions. If
something does not come into our lives to humiliate us, then surely all these
things will undo us.
- The Lord, by means of our small failures, lets us know that it is His majesty
which frees us from great faults. These are the ways He keeps us humble and
vigilant.
Michael Molinos, 1675
- Never let the sense of past failure corrupt your new effort or action.
Oswald Chambers
- Press on…nothing in the world will take the place of perseverance.
Talent will not…nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not--unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not--the
world is filled with educated derelicts. Persistence & determination alone
are omnipotent.
Calvin Coolidge
- In order for grace & truth to produce good fruit, we need a third key
element: time. Dr. Henry Cloud
- What God does to deliver us, He sometimes does in 40 years…and sometimes
in an instant; this is a singular mystery. The Lord does not let us know which
He will do; this mystery therefore, demands that we live in humility. Whether
it be in 40 years or an instant, it is the work of His powerful hand the frees
us from sins.
Michael Molinos
- If we are going to live as disciples of Jesus, we have to remember that
all noble things are difficult. The Christian life is gloriously difficult,
but the difficulty does not make us faint and cave in…it rouses us to
overcome….if we fail, it is because we have not practiced….Thank
God He does give us difficult things to do! His salvation is a glad thing,
but it is also a heroic, holy thing. It tests us for all we are worth…it
is always necessary to make an effort to be noble.
Oswald Chambers
PSALM 43:5 Why so downcast o my soul…put your hope
and confidence and trust in God.
PSALM 1O:14 But you o Lord do see trouble and grief. You
consider it, and take action to address it. The victim commits himself to you…you
ARE the helper of the fatherless.
PSALM 27:10 When my father and mother forsake me, then the
Lord will adopt me.
PSALM 9:10 For you Lord, do not forsake those who seek you.
PSALM 31:14-15 But I trust in you O Lord, I say: You are
my God. My times are in your hands. Deliver me from my enemies and from those
who pursue me.
PSALM 31:7-8 I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for
you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. You have not handed me
over to my enemy, but have set my feet in a spacious place.
PSALM 30:2-3 Oh Lord my God, I called to you for help, and
you healed me. O Lord, you brought me up from the grave…you spared me
from going down into the pit.
PSALM 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord and he listened
to me, and heard my cry.
PSALM 34:15 The Eyes of the Lord are on the Righteous and
his ears are attentive to their cry.
PSALM 34:17-19 The Righteous cry out and the Lord hears them…he
delivers them from all of their troubles. The Lord IS CLOSE to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all.
